Competitive Edge’s Program has been established and proven over the past 4.5 years in the Northwest area of the Twin Cities and more recently the Southwest Suburbs. It is built on group training with a standard 90 minute schedule. Within this construct, roughly one half hour is spent at each of three stations. With the inclusion of The Bullet Skating Treadmill, Competitive Edge now has 5 stations that a parent or coach can choose from…
The first thing that any team should do in order to get started with Competitive Edge team sessions is to do a single trial session. We operate under the assumption that most teams have about 15 players. Our 90 minute trial session goes for $150 or $10 per player.
This session gives parents, players, and coaches the opportunity to understand what a Competitive Edge session entails and how the benefit applies to the game. It also helps to coaches to customize future sessions to their team's needs. From here we can make an informed decision about how Competitive Edge can help your team.
Assuming your group would like to do more training, the next step is to understand your team's situation. If there is money in the budget ready to be spent on additional training, it is just a matter of scheduling your team's sessions. If not, then we can work within our Flexible Team Program (for details contact us) to serve those families who are committed to extra development.

Wondering if Competitive Edge will come to your practices to bring a fresh perspective to any development area where the team needs work? The answer is yes.
As our work in the Competitive Edge facility would indicate we have a strong background in individual skill development, but we also understand that the game of hockey is dominated by those who can manage many tasks at once. These tasks include all of those skills we refine in the facility, but they also include reading and reacting to the oppositions' tactics and your own teammates' plays, plus generally processing your own tactics. As such we work to develop those basic skills, the high level mental processing of the game, and everything in between.
Another high value benefit that Competitive Edge can bring is expertise in making the most out of practices on smaller ice sheets such as the 3v3 sheets at Hat Trick. We run icetimes on these sheets all of the time and can definitely help a coach to learn new drills that not only work on small sheets, but also take advantage of their strengths in terms of pushing the pace of play.
